I can’t believe that December and Christmas are already right around the corner again. Honestly, it’s a little embarrassing to be posting this — considering that I haven’t actively written anything on this blog since the last 12 Days of Anime (I truly did mean to post at least semi-regularly throughout the year). There are a few things I want to write about before this project starts, but considering my track record, we’ll see if they actually make it up. Compared to last year, where I posted my introduction the literal day before, I’m at the very least starting out on the right foot. Anyways, I invite those who’re interested in the 12 Days of Anime to participate alongside me.
What is the 12 Days of Anime Event?
The 12 Days of Anime is an annual tradition in the anime community where participants create content every day for the twelve consecutive days leading up to Christmas. These are posted starting December 14th, with the last one being posted on Christmas (December 25th). Each post really just needs to be about anime; the subject matter of which is up to you. It doesn’t necessarily have to be from a series that aired this year, but in the case of my participation, it will be.
Since it’s independently run, the requirements to get started are pretty straightforward. First, you choose the platform(s) (Most people do either YouTube or a blog, but anything works!). Second, you create your introductory content (whether that be a post, video, etc) to let your audience know you’re participating. Lastly, you can add yourself to the databases of the two main 12 Days of Anime events (1, 2). From there you simply participate! Make sure to share your content and keep the databases up-to-date so that the rest of us can follow along!

Same as last year, the schedule section will serve as a Table of Contents. I will be updating this daily so that I can have links to all of my posts in one place. I will be attempting to get posts up around noon daily. Check back at either this page or my website’s homepage somewhere around then for new posts!

Last year, all of my posts talked about a moment in anime that really impacted me. While this was feasible with how much anime I watched in 2017, I honestly don’t think I could come up with the same amount of posts this year. 2018 is surely going to be more sporadic, with posts all over the place, but not having a specific theme will allow me to get more creative with the topics I write about. I want to compare and contrast my interests and viewing habits between this year and last, talk about my favorite soundtracks; hell, maybe even a rant or top 10 list — I’m not exactly sure yet. This year I also hope to follow more people who are also participating. I really just stuck to myself last time, but I think it will be much more rewarding to interact more.
It’s Time to Start!
To those who are also participating this year, I wish you good luck and hope to follow along with your content as it progresses. To those following along, and reading my posts specifically, I hope you’ll hang in there with my sporadic content and likely unedited posts. I’m doing this first and foremost for fun; as a way to talk about anime and keep myself motivated to continue writing. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I will!
