I can happily say that for day four of the 12 Days of Anime, I will be covering a moment from My Hero Academia that everyone enjoyed. The fight between Todoroki and Midoriya is definitely one of the highlights of the entire series so far.
Since the fight and Todoroki’s backstory covered the entire episode, it gives me more to talk about! This episode is one of the best examples of how well the series builds up its characters. To focus so much on a single individual when your series follows the seasonal anime schedule. It really plays to My Hero Academia‘s pacing and prevents the series from feeling too rushed.
Even in the dub version of this show (which is what I watched while it aired), the actors did a great job of putting real emotion in their voice. And of course, the main reason this scene stood out above the other great My Hero Academia scenes, was the animation. This was probably one of the most visually appealing battles in all of anime this year.
Of course, the background music is brilliant as well. When the song begins playing, it does so at the perfect time to match the tone of the battle. I have seen this episode nearly 20 times at this point, and it still gives me the shivers every single time.
What do you think about this series? If you have seen it, what was your favorite scene? Also, be sure to let me know if you are participating in the 12 Days of Anime! I would love to read more posts from fellow anime bloggers.
